A purported Verizon internal memo seems to indicate various details about some of the carrier’s plans for the coming months, including release dates for two highly anticipated devices such as the Moto X and HTC One.
Phone Arena has gotten its hands on the document below, which appears to be a roadmap for the following two months – we will note that these dates are yet to be official, so take them with the appropriate amount of salt.
That said, the document says the HTC One will launch on August 1, while the Moto X is set to arrive on three weeks later, on August 23.
The HTC One is already available on other carriers including AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile, not to mention there’s also a Google Play edition of the HTC One available, so it may not be such an interesting addition to Verizon’s inventory.
On the other hand, the Moto X is one of the most expected Android handsets of the summer, a device that’s supposedly going to launch with all major carriers later this year.
Considering that Moto X is almost always late to the party when it comes to new device launches (see the Galaxy S4 and HTC One), we can’t but wonder whether the other operators will get the handset before Big Red or not.
Interestingly, the list above doesn’t mention anything about the new Droids (Ultra, Maxx and Mini), which are also expected to arrive in the coming months. We’re actually surprised not to see the Ultra in there, considering that a recently leaked commercial storyboard for the Ultra seemed to indicate the phone will be launched on August 8.
As you can see in the list, other events are mentioned in the leaked roadmap so we’ll just have to wait and see whether Verizon will actually confirm them.
